Phi Brows are a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo treatment that lasts 12-18 months. It has Hyper-realistic hair strokes that are created manually using a microblade. The placement of these hair strokes is very precise in order to mimic the movement that of a natural brow.
The pigment is carefully custom blended, tailored for each individual client from blonde, to redhead, grey/silver to ebony.
The brows last 18 – 24 months, refreshing of the colour is done once within 6 months to a year and a half, depending on skin quality.
Phi Brows are an ideal brow treatment for people who struggle to grow hair on their brows, suffer from sparse or over-plucked brows or those who just want fabulous brows all year round with little to no maintenance.
PhiBrow Consultation & Patch Test – Free
You will receive a detailed, in-depth consultation discussing the colour, shape and your desired result. Prior to the treatment, your brow artist will take a number of very precise facial measurements using a ‘golden ratio’ measuring tool. The shape of eyebrows is calculated only according to the morphology of the face and the golden mean, the number φ (1,618).
PhiBrows Initial Treatment
The first treatment takes approximately 2 hours to complete while your brow artist maps out your new brow and hand-draws each and every hair stroke for the most natural looking and realistic brow finish. After this treatment, the brow pigment will be a little darker than the healed brow colour, however this will fade within 5-7 days and is completely normal.
PhiBrows Top-Up Treatment
A top-up treatment is required one month after your first Phi Brow treatment as 10-15% of hair strokes are lost while the skin tries to repair itself. The top-up treatment price is included within the initial price, but must be booked within 10 weeks of your first Phi Brows appointment, otherwise additional fees may occur.
PhiBrows Top Up (within 18months)
Phi Brows generally last between 10-12 months before a top-up is needed. However, this is not always the case as durability will depend on skin quality. Those with oily skin will find the pigment fades faster and may need more regular top-ups – for example, 6 months onwards.
Please note, it is the responsibility of the client to take this factor into consideration before booking your treatment.
Pre Phi Brows
Please avoid the following for 30 days before your Phi Brows appointment:
- Botox and Fillers
- Exposure to strong sunlight
- Fruit and Lactic Acids
- Laser Treatments
- Facial Peels
Please avoid the following up to 48 hours before your Phi Brows appointment:
- Activity causing sweat
- Caffeine and alcohol
- Fish oil
- Vitamin E
Before the treatment, you must make your brow artist aware of any of the following which applies:
- Problematic skin
- Serious health issues
- Taking certain medication
- Already had previous semi-permanent makeup on your eyebrows
Post Phi Brows
The first step in the healing procedure: 30 minutes after the treatment gently cleanse your eyebrows using Phi Wipes (you will be given these at your appointment) without stretching the skin. Cleanse the skin up until you find traces of pigment or coloured lymph on the wipes. This means the excess lymph is removed in order to prevent the formation of scabbing. Having cleansed the skin, you should apply skin candy cream which will also be given to you at your appointment. During the day this process should be repeated 3-5 times.
If the treatment was done in the afternoon and you do not have time to repeat the procedure 3-5 times, before going to bed and after the last rinsing and applying the cream on the eyebrows, it is necessary to cover your brows and sleep with them covered.
In the next 6 days, rinsing will no longer be needed, however, applying the cream is necessary 3-5 times daily. The eyebrows must not get wet while washing your face or having a shower. If you have extremely oily skin, the aftercare (rinsing and applying the cream) is only recommended on the first day, while in the following days you should not apply any ointment or cream.
Please avoid the following 7 days after your Phi Brows appointment:
- Itching is normal but please do not pick or scratch the area as this can cause the pigments to heal unevenly and may even cause infection and scarring.
- Creams (except protective ones) and makeup
- Facial massages
- Direct shower spray
Please avoid the following 30 days after your Phi Brows appointment:
- Sun tanning/sunbeds
- Light (laser) therapy
- Chemical peels, fruit acids
- Creams that contain regeneration factors.
You should always avoid laser treatments over the treated area during the healing period (Fraxel laser, IPL) because they can destroy the pigment and cause inflammation. Faster fading out of pigment can happen if you use antibiotics or hormonal therapy. Always protect your eyebrows from the sun by using sun protection cream.
Are PhiBrows Suitable For Me?
You must be age 18 or over for this procedure. For a successful treatment, your skin must not be in the regeneration process i.e be damaged by skin conditions such as acne, eczema or seborrheic dermatitis. If you have previously taken medication for acne (Accutane) you must have stopped taking this medication for 12 months prior to the microblading procedure. You cannot have the treatment done whilst pregnant, breastfeeding, or receiving chemotherapy. If you are on medication or have any allergies and wish to have this treatment, please notify us beforehand so that we can check eligibility for the treatment. If you have previously had your eyebrows tattooed/microbladed, they must have significantly faded for us to be able to perform the Phi Brows treatment successfully. Please make us aware of this before booking in as you may need to undergo a removal process before having the treatment done with us.
Is It Painful?
This depends on your pain threshold. It is normal to feel slight discomfort however it is bearable. We recommend that you bring earphones with you and play your favourite playlist so you can relax whilst Heather transforms your brows!
Is There Maintenance Inbetween
Maintenance depends on the individual skin type and lifestyle. Results last longest on normal to dry skin. Oily skin may find a little top-up is required sooner.
What Can Effect The result
There are many factors that can affect the result of your treatment. The main factor is aftercare. The better you look after your Phi Brows the longer they will last Initially the hair strokes will appear crisp and bold, but will soften in appearance as the tissue heals. It is common to have some areas fading more than others, this is part of the healing process and will be treated during your top-up application.
Treatment success is dependent on:
- Your skin quality
- Post-treatment care
- Exposure to external influences
