Key Ingredients : Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid is key to instantly plump fine lines and making skin glow. It can be found in everything from serums to sheet masks and even injectables – but what exactly is it?

Hyaluronic Acid is one of the GAGs (Glycosaminoglycans) found naturally in the body, looks like a jelly-like substance it surrounds collagen and elastin fibres to help support the structure of the skin.

Glycosaminoglycans’ primary role is to maintain and support collagen, elastin and bounce in the skin’s cells and keeps protein fibres in balance. They promote the ability of collagen and elastin fibres to retain moisture. In skincare products, they are essential to the epidermal & dermal cell’s metabolism and keeping the collagen and elastin of the skin in good condition. GAGs are also important in the reaction of copper peptides to help repair wrinkles and scarring. Known as the water reserve these carbohydrates are dependent on fluid intake.

The large molecule size of hyaluronic acid can be prevented from reaching the epidermis. Its molecules are 3000 nanometers in diameter whereas intercellular space is only around 100 nanometers. However, it is rapidly absorbed into the upper layers of the skin where it plumps the cells and softens fine lines and wrinkles.

Hyaluronic Acid offers intensive hydration and has the ability to hold 1000 times its own weight in water. It also allows other enzymes in the skin to function which in turn allows even desquamation (skin shedding). Hyaluronic Acid allows surface cells to become saturated with hydration which helps to close fissures and superficial cracks which lead to skin irritations and sensitivity.

Our recommended hyaluronic serums.

Cliniccare
Now Cliniccare is a little different to other brands we work with in salon, and the reason is that their basic component to all their products in Hyaluronic Acid. Now, this isn’t any ordinary hyaluronic acid, this is a low molecular. As mentioned above Hyaluronic Acid has a molecular size of 3000 nanometers and to allow it to penetrate deeper into the skin and make a bigger impact it needs to be smaller than 100 nanometers unless it was to be injected. Japanese scientists have managed to develop low molecular hyaluronic acid with molecules only 5 nanometers wide with high ionization levels as well, which means it can reach deep into the skin without the need for injection. Cliniccare is a high technology cosmeceutical with immediate and visible effects. Their globally patented complexes of hyaluronic acid are many thousand times smaller than ordinary molecules and can penetrate deep into the skin to hydrate and rejuvenate from within. Special formulas provide outstanding results due to the unique combination of very effective active ingredients. That is why the link above takes you to the whole range!

If Hyaluronic Acid can’t fix it… It’s a serious problem!
